Day 1

Taylor, Texas (T74) to Albany, Texas (T23)

Miles flown this day: 0

Forrest Gump was right. You never know what you’re gonna get, especially on a gyrotrip. The flight from Taylor to Albany was fantastic. The weather cleared enough for us to depart Taylor at about 4:30. We had a short stop in Comanche, TX and were able to land in Albany about thirty minutes before dark. The City of Albany was kind enough to provide a courtesy car for us to drive from the airport to the Steakhouse. The restaurant feels like a step back in time when real cowboys and cattlemen roamed the Texas plains. I’ll post pix tomorrow. About never knowing what you’re gonna get, our hotel is a former nursing home with multiple wings that spring out from the main office like spokes on a bicycle wheel. It’s just me, Chandler and the hotel mgr in the whole building – no one else. Chandler is speculating how many people have died in this place. But, remember, this ain’t Dallas, it’s Albany. And, we just heard a goat whining outside our window. With that, I’ll say goodnight!

Day 2

Sunday, February 21, 2016

Albany, TX (T23) to Taylor, TX T74

Miles flown this day: 0

Total miles flown: 0

It was long before daylight when we drove though downtown Albany on our way back to the airport. We stopped to get a couple of shots of a car restoration business that looked more like a display you would see in Las Vegas than in Albany, Texas. After a quick stop to gas up the courtesy car, we headed to the airport. Taking off just after daybreak, we saw the sun come up through the morning haze. We were trying to outrun the rain all the way home and managed to touch down in Taylor at about 10:30, just before the weather moved in.  That was a great trip! Till next time, thanks for following and ENJOY THE JOURNEY
