Taylor TX to San Antonio to Taylor TX

Miles flown this day: 178

Total miles flown: 178

The flight down to KSAT San Antonio was fantastic.  After taking off from Taylor, we flew over downtown Austin and leveled off at about 1800 ft.  Controllers at San Antonio Intl were very helpful and made a jet hold short and taxi behind us as we made our way to Millionaire FBO.   We rented a car at the FBO then drove downtown to Little Rhein Steak House.   It’s pretty unique, having dinner in a building that was built before the Civil War. Food was great,  service was personal and downtown San Antonio was pleasantly uncrowded.

Back at the FBO, we layered on our jackets and flight suits before taxing out to runway 04 for the flight back to Taylor.   From miles out, we could see the Austin skyline, filled with high-rise condos and rooftop swimming pools all lit up like a Chrstmas tree. Strangely enough, the nighttime trip home was warmer than it was earlier that afternoon.  We landed at T74 just before the fog rolled in. This was a great trip with great company.

It’s no exaggeration to say that flying a Magni is “living the dream”.
