BAHAMAS (June 2019)

BAHAMAS IS ON

THIS 9 DAY TRIP to the BAHAMAS will take us east to Mobile and  St. Augustine FL, then south to Ft. Pierce FL and across to the BAHAMAS to our destination of CAPE SANTA MARIA BEACH RESORT, located on LONG ISLAND, about halfway down the island chain. Right now, we’re asking anyone who might want to join us to send an email to rdabbs@gyrotrips.com so we can get a handle on how many people and gyros might be going. Hi Frank, You could meet us in MOBILE AL on Thurs-June 20 or ST AUGUSTINE FL on FRI - June 21. I just received confirmation from CAPE SANTA MARIA RESORT in Bahamas that they have blocked off rooms for our stay. I'll be sending out details within a few days. Hope you can join us. Robert Dabbs

CHANGE OF PLAN - Everything was going well, but our luck changed in Panama City when Dayton’s carburetor malfunctioned on takeoff. We were able to safely taxi back to the terminal, but, unfortunately that ended our plan to reach the Bahamas. John and Karen Drummond continued on, but Kathy, Chandler, Dayton, and I stayed in Panama City to figure out plan “B”. Kathy and Chandler flew home to Texas on Southwest Airlines. Dayton and I flew my gyro to south Florida to get parts to repair his gyro. Bahamas will have to wait for another time. All is well.
