Trip Overview
Taylor, TX to Galveston (March 14, 2018)
March 14, 2018 — March 23, 2018
AFTER THE TRIP
We departed Taylor shortly after 1:00 PM Wednesday for the 160 mile flight down to Galveston. Cyndi and Mike Baker, along with Kathy and I made up the flight of two Magni M16 Gyroplanes. The three hour flight, at 1500 feet, took us over farms, fields, and an occasional small town until we reached the the beach about 15 miles west of Galveston at 4:00 PM. The controllers at Galveston tower were helpful in guiding us in for landing on runway 14. And, a special thanks to Mike Shahan with The City of Galveston for providing hangar space that we greatly appreciated.
Thursday morning was filled with lots of sunshine for our foursome to enjoy the day by the pool at the San Luis. Dinner at BLVD SEAFOOD and STEAK was a highlight. If you visit Galveston, it’s worth a spot on your list of places to eat.
Friday morning weather looked a little dicey, so we took off around 8:45, about an hour earlier than originally planned, to avoid low clouds and rain. By the time we touched down at T74 Taylor at 11:45, the sun was shining, making for a perfect ending to a perfect GyroTrip.

Thanks for coordinating the trip Robert. That was one grand adventure. Flying the beach was a new experience for Cyndi. Galveston has a lot to offer. The best part was the company.
